opening season

Trips are planned and I'm getting ready. Yesterday I started a band for a new tam with leftovers of my "Ruby Slippers" cashmere. I pulled out a button from a 1989 trip to Scotland, went through the closet of yarn, and then ordered some more to go along with stock. But not wanting just start one project I went through the bags of uncompleted last year's projects. It's always interesting to try to remember what my ideas were. Documentation is not my strong point, and my hats seem to bring out the most serendipity aspect of my personality. This is something I seem to enjoy and so no need to change things. Yarn is the most wonderful medium for the ever changing project. It is also good for those failed attempts from past years. Anyone who knits as much as I do has no qualms about "frogging" as it is referred to in the world of knitters. I'm not sure if I should think of today as Spring training, or the official opening of the 2014 Tam season.
