aesculus californica

I love buckeyes for several reasons. One being they remind me of Marin county, especially "Camp Taylor", and two, they are easy to propagate. I was very worried this year because I thought the 2013 crop was a failure. I had collected them late and let them go longer than usual before planting. But not giving up hope, I kept watering seemingly empty pots, and they surprised me and popped up recently. The first two in the foreground were collected in December from Devil's Gulch.
