field trip day

We headed out on the 9:25 ferry this morning, with a 10:00 am appointment at Pier 24. The current exhibit runs through May of this year and is well worth a visit. We headed further down the embarcadero to the Hi Dive for lunch. A quite acceptable fish and chips was consumed. Then we decided we would try to climb California Street and visit Grace Cathedral.

The climb was worth it. Although after a rather slow walk back down Nob Hill with a stop at Peets in the Ferry Building we both had some serious issues getting up off the bench after drinking our Freddos. Good thing the ferry terminal was close by. Not sure what body part is more tired, our feet, knees, or hips. But we are already planning the next jaunt into the city.

black eyes peas

Now I did not know this until last evening, but evidently one needs to eat black eyes peas on New Years to bring good luck and prosperity for the coming year. Since we were gifted this can of peas, I'm adding them to the salad for dinner tonight. Do you think this will make it rain? Here's hoping for precipitation, and a good year for all. Welcome 2014.
